Course reflection

First of all when I pass the foundation I think all my courses will be easy and simple as foundation level. However when I reach the level one I feel that there is big hole between this level and foundation. The first problem in level one is the listening because I fill in it. Our teacher you will not improve because you have to stop talking in Arabic. In the level 2 I try my best to improve and was improve in reading and writing but it still my problem is the listening. I try my best to improve my listening skills and I am very happy because I do it I got 73 in my last assessment and that mean I could improve. Now I am happy with some result. And I hope to pass the course. Also I think I am a good student I attend every period and I do all my work. The good things are the balloon debate and the presentation because we have fun in these classes. The bad thing is talking Arabic to much in our English class but our teacher help us and trying very hard to ban the Arabic in the class. Furthermore we can improve by working hard and help each other. Also try to speak English as much as you can. In my opinion our teacher could improve by correct our mistakes and give us chance to talk and gives us the confident to talk and discuss any thing in English and make us love her language. Finally the course was very good. However I think it is big jump from foundation level to reach this level.

The points from the project

The main points of this project to have a good knowledge about the worlds threat which is (Global warming). Another thing we learned that the main causes of the global warming such as CO2 and the green houses. Also I measure my footprints and I get 2.65 planets we need to support this people. Furthermore, we try to find some solutions for this issue because if we leave it our planet may destroy. In addition to this we saw the film "An Inconvenient Truth" it talks about the global warming and it has some solutions by the director Al Gore. Finally we have the UAE initiative by building the first in the world zero-carbon city called (Masdar).

In my opinion this project is very important and useful in the same time because we talk about on of the most important issues for the worlds. However, no one find the good solution for global warming because we can't quit everything suddenly because some one said the world will destroy in the next 20 years.

Masdar City

Masdar is the green city. It is the world's first zero-carbon, zero-waste, car-free city. Masdar located near to the Abu Dhabi International Airport. The masdar city will cost about $ 22 billion. It will save almost 2 billion dollar in oil in the next 25 years. Masdar city will take eight years to build and it is home to 50,000 people. Some professors try to make new solution for the world's growing by the fossil fuels. Masdar city will divided to 30% for the housing, 24% for the business, 13% for commercial purposes and left 33% parted in transportation and cultural pursuits. Masdar rely on the renewable energy like solar power so it is the zero wastes city. The goal from the masdar city is to develop clean energy.

Ahmed Hassan Zewail

Introduction:

My Name is Ahmed Hassan Zewail and I was born on Fubruary 26, 1946 in Damanhur,Egypt. I am an Egyptian American scientist. Also I won the 1999 Nobel Prize in chemistry.

I think I am the best one to stay in the balloon because I have done much to help this world with my inventions

I believe that we should spread peace all over the world and to be like brothers on this planet. Also we must protect our planet from threats.

I feel I can do more for Chemistry and invent new things that may help our beautiful planet

I have done many things in my life. My main achievements are the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1999. I also invented the fastest camera in the world it could get image in 0.000000000000001 seconds (10-15 s). This camera is used to record chemical reactions. Further more I work very hard to solve the Alzheimer's disease by very small telescope to watch the brain cells.
The world needs me because I have done much to this world by my inventions that I mentioned above.

There are so many reasons why I should be allowed to stay in this balloon basket and not be thrown into the sea the first reason is that I work In my new treatment to solve the problem of the Alzheimer's disease.

The second reason is that I discovered way to treat from the cancers.

Now I will turn to my traveling companions, the other celebrities in this disastrous trip. They have argued well and I tend to agree with them on some pointes However, I disagree with others like the wealthy person who said" I donate to poor people some of my money" I think any one have a lot of money could do the same thing. In addition to this the football player or any sport guy can not influence us because he didn’t do thing for the world only to make money and the fame.

Finally, I would like to say if you think I argued well and I deserve to stay on the balloon please don’t throw me into the sea.

Cool cities

The cool cities are the city with carbon free and it must be zero waste. For example they use the solar energy and winds instead of the oil to produce the electricity.also the water they recycle it for agriculture uses.

Green vehicle solutions:

Green vehicle solutions are method used to decrease the global warming. It has some solutions the first one is green fleets. The people should grow more plants and trees to help the environments. Another solution is hybrid vehicle incentives. We should use the hybrid engines because it is environment friends. Also we have to change any vehicle produce a lot of carbon like diesel buses with hybrid engines.

Energy efficiency solutions:

Energy efficiency means using less energy. It has several solutions like making new buildings more energy efficient. Another solution is use the light emitting diode (LED) because it turns off if there enough lights so it save the energy. Finally, we can use the combined heat and power (CHP) systems because it use heating and cooling from a single power.

Renewable Energy Solutions:

We can do that by harnessing natural sources of energy like the sun and the wind. The first solution is Renewable Energy Standards. Another solution is Solar and Wind Installations by use this energy to produce our electricity and water.

line graph

This line graph shows the number of the population aged under 35. Overall, the population fluctuated but it still in increased in India and it went down in Italy.

In 1940 the percentage of population under 35 slightly fell and it was almost 30%. After that the percentage started to increase in 1945. Then the percentage of Indians remains steady but it still rose in Italy. In 1970 the percentage slowly fell for both countries. Then the percentage bounced up again for both countries and almost hit 40%. After that the percentage increased until 1990. Finally the Indian percentage had sharp increase until 2005 but, the Italian decrease again and hit 30 %

In conclusion, the young population fluctuated but still in increased in India. In the last 15 years the Italian percentage fell sharply until 2005.

Table graph

The table shows some facts about number of children killed in street in 2004. Overall, the highest number of deaths is in playing in street and shopping for parents.

Playing in the street has the highest number of deaths and the total is 214 children from difference ages. The second and the major accident are from children whom shopping for their parents and it are more than 50 children. Cycling in the street is another problem because a lot of children were killed and it is almost 50 children in same period. The lowest one is going to school because it is only 25 children in the same period.

The table shows that playing in the street and shopping for their parents is the most worse children killed in road accident.

Pie graph

The pie graph shows seven regions in the UAE by square kilometer. Overall, the total area is 77,700 with Abu Dhabi making up more than 85% and Ajman is the minority almost 5 % of the total land area

First Abu Dhabi is the largest Emirate in the UAE and it covers around 87 %, which is over the tree quarters of the land area. Second in size of Dubai, which are only covers 7 % of the land area. The other five parts are much smaller than Abu Dhabi but, it near to Dubai size. The five emirates together are only land area of the UAE.

In summary, Abu Dhabi is the largest region in the UAE with an area almost covers three quarters of the land area. The other six regions almost 15 % of remain land.

family behaviour

In the UAE every family like to teach their children the best behaviors. There are two ways to brought up our children. Some people think the co-operation is the best way and others think the competition is best. In my opinion the co-operation is better than competition. In this essay I will examine the pros and cons of the way of teaching the children their behavior.

There are several of arguments in favor of teaching the competition for the children. The first argument is the children like to be the first in difference majors. For example in the education he want be number one and in the game he or she want to be the first and that something is good. Another argument is the children may hate each other. For instance, the younger child hates the elder brothers because he feel the parents get more attention to the elder children and give them or buy for them anything they need such as mobile phone and give them the money.

However, there are many far more convincing arguments against the competition and favor the co-operation. The first point is if you teach your children to be as group in every thing the children will love each other. For example, when any of them has hard homework they will help him to solve it and they will teach them if he didn't understand his subject. Another thing is the children will be effective in his society. For instance when child learn to be co-operation they will help their society by carrying out more work and try to solve the problem if it is.

In conclusion, I believe that we should bring up our children in correct way. In my opinion the both ways I mention above are good but I think the co-operation is better than compotation.

Oil Price

This graph shows the changes in the prices of oil from Jan to November 2004. Overall, the price fluctuated but overall it increased.

In January the price of oil was $ 35 and it rose to almost $ 46 in March. After that, the price of oil remained steady for month. In April the price was going up and then fall down to $ 50. Later on the price dumped dramatically and reached the lowest price at $ 29 then the price bounce back in July and increased until August. After that the price started to fall again and hit the January price which was $ 35. Finally, the price was dramatically increased until November.

In conclusion, the price of oil fluctuated but it increased at the end of year.

T.V Argument

In the UAE, most families have at least one T.V in their home. Some people say that it is useful and interesting. However, others say the disadvantages are more than the advantages. In my opinion, I support the idea which is the disadvantages are more than the advantages. This essay will examine the pros and cons of T.V it is harm or good.

There are several arguments in favor of T.V. The first argument is that you can increase your general knowledge. For example, there are a lot of useful programs on different subjects like science, history and news programs. Another reason that the people agree with this idea is the T.V is use for entertainment. For instance, you can spend your leisure time watch movies and some interesting programs.

However, there are many far more convincing arguments against watching T.V. The first point is the quality of programs. For example, some programs are about war, violence, murder and various disasters making us less sensitive to the real thing. Also watching TV can slow down young children’s speech development because they watch a lot and don’t talk with anybody. Furthermore T.V reduces your attention and decreases your concentration. Finally, the T.V causes some diseases like eye problems and you will gain more weight and become a "couch potatoes".

In conclusion, I believe that we should decrease or ban watching T.V. Also I strongly believe that the T.V does more harm than good because it turns people into unthinking, illiterate and couch potatoes.

New zeland wool

This graph shows the price of New Zealand wool for two decades. Overall the price of wool fluctuated but it still in increased.

The price of wool dropped off from $2 to $1.4 and reached its lowest level between 1980 and 1985. In the following year the price rose to more than $ 2.2. After this the price had a sharp increase again and it hit the peak of at more than $ 5. After that in 1988 the price fell significantly and returned back to $ 3. Between 1990 and 1993 the price had a small fluctuated. Then the price bounced back again and reached $ 4.5. The price tailed off between 1995 and 1997. Finally the price stayed steady until 2000.

In conclusion, the graph shows that the price of the New Zealand wool but still in increased. Overall, the price fluctuated a lot but it still in increase.

Contraception

Some people believe contraceptives should be available at cost to those who can't afford them. Some people think that contraception is the best solution for overpopulation. In my opinion overpopulation is really a major problem. This essay will examine the pros and cons the use of contraception to reduce overpopulation.

There are several convincing arguments in favor of contraception. The first point is that it is easy to follow the method of contraception to decrease the number of population. Another thing is some people think that when the size of family becomes small the children will get a better chance in education, healthcare and nutrition. In all developed countries they support contraception because it helps the developing world to cope with population problems.

However, there are several arguments against contraception. The first argument is standard the level of education. If we increase the levels of education the population tends to stabilize at the same rate. Even if the numbers of population are going to hit 10.7 billion in 2050, this is likely to remain steady afterwards. Another argument is control birth may not used in correct way. For example, some families will adopt children and that is forbidden in our religion. Also many communities are interested in having as many babies as possible. Furthermore there are some birth control have a strong side effect that may effect the mother and new babe. Finally contraception is a big problem in the both developed and developing nation.

In conclusion, I believe that we should reduce the numbers of babes because we have a huge increase in the population. I strongly believe that contraception has more disadvantages than benefits so, we must find another solution for the overpopulation problem

An Inconvenient Truth Opinion

The earth is heating up, no doubt about that. There is ample evidence that supports the fact that the temperature of the planet has risen in last 20 years. In my opinion "An Inconvenient Truth" talks about one of the most important issues that face the world. The overall reaction of the movie is the government and all people are responsible for increasing the "CO2" and as we know it is the major caused for global warming. In my opinion AL Gore relies on facts so he makes you agree with his point and that makes the movie success. Another thing, AL Gore's comments are very good and attract the audience and the images are fantastic. Finally, I like the movie and I hope every one takes advantage from it and I give this movie 9 point from 10 because it talks about the major problem for the world

An Inconvenient Truth Summary

Former vice president Albert Arnold Al Gore talks about one of the most important issue in his movie "An Inconvenient Truth" which is global warming. Al Gore presents a wide arrangement of facts and information in a logical way. Al Gore makes his presentation laying out the facts in funny style and let the audience to draw their own conclusions. Also the movie talks about the disastrous consequences if the world's governments and citizens are not aware of this threat. Al Gore in his movie asks the government and people to change their bad habits. Al Gore convinces us that there is still time to make a difference for defend our planet. Al Gore said that we can no longer afford to view global warming as a political issue and we should know that it is the biggest challenge facing our global civilization. Furthermore the movie explains a lot of things like carbon dioxide levels, effect of global warming and ocean temperature and storms. Also the movie talks about the hottest 10 years and it is almost the last 10 years so that is not good for people and planet. Finally, we should all be aware about this threat because it will harm us and the governments should find ways to decrease their carbon foot print.

About this project

In English 174 we will have a Cool Cities Project. This project should have a lot of steps to finish. First you have to set up a blog and send the address to your teacher. Second, you have to write about your self "profile". Third, you need to watch the movie called "An Inconvenient Truth". After that you have to summarize the movie and what are you going to do regard to this movie. Also what should Abu Dhabi government do to make the people aware about this topic. Then you should write about the carbon footprint and how we can measure it and give some solution for this topic. Next you should discuss about living on cool cities and make your own video about the global warming. After that you will talk about masdar city and write about what are the aims of the Masdar project. Finally, you have to debate on this topic and then upload it to your blog.

Carbon Footprint

Carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases produced to directly and indirectly support human activities, usually expressed in equivalent tons of carbon dioxide (CO2). For example when your car engine works it is burn fuel which produce a lot of CO2 and another dangerous gases. These gases warm the atmosphere and it will create another huge problem which is global warming

Actually we have some dangerous greenhouse gases produced by humans. For instance we have carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and chlorofluorocarbons. Carbon dioxide is the most dangerous gases and the scientists commonly use CO2 to measure the global warming problem. Furthermore, all greenhouse gases have carbon in common.

On the other hand the carbon it is not all bad. For example, diamonds are pure carbon. Also oil, natural gas, and coal are made of carbon and it is polluting connotation. Finally the carbon footprint is calculated for the time period of a year.

Measure your Footprint

We all have an effect on the environment everyday of our lives. We eat our planet and use its resources and pollute it with our waste. I do Measure my own carbon footprint and I get 2.65 planets. In details 26% on food and I think not all people can buy this type of food so I think it is wrong percentage. Also the travel I get 16% on it and the home I get 31%. About the home we didn't buy too much stuff for the home but this site makes some bad option to increase our footprint. Finally I get 27% in the home stuff which I think it is not pollute our planet.

Carbon Footprint Solutions

There are many solutions for carbon footprint topic. For example do not travels by air because it causes a lot of pollute for our planet. Second Buy more seasonal food. But I think it is ridiculous because in our country the weather was too hot and no plants grow except palms trees. Another solution Walk instead of using other modes of transport. In my opinion no one can walk in the UAE except in winter and for short distance. Another solution you should turn off any thing use energy like TV, computers and air conditions if doesn’t need it.

Ban smoking in public places

In the UAE, most people are smokers. Some people believe that the smoking should be banned in all public places in Abu Dhabi while many are opposed to it. This essay will examine the pros and cons of is smoking in the public places in Abu Dhabi and is the government have to banned it.

There are several arguments in favor of smoking. First argument is that smoking helps to relax people and to improve their concentration. For example many people like to smoke after the food or when they discuss something. Also some people need cigarettes before an exam because they feel it will increase their concentration. Another thing a lot of people will lose their jobs. There are thousands of people work in the tobacco factories and shops and if we ban the cigarettes they will lose the jobs and the factory owners will lose their money. People also argue that the smokers should have the right place to smoke not in any place to let the other breath fresh air.

However, there are many far more convincing arguments against the smoking. The first point is that the smoking is enormously dangerous. Most people know that the causative of Heart disease, bronchitis and lung cancer is the smoking. Another point is that the second hand smoking. For instance, when you smoke at your home you will affect your family. Also in your job the no one wants to sit with you in same office. Finally, the smokers can not be able to do hard job because they feel tired more than normal person.

In conclusion, smoking has both advantages for smokers and disadvantages for people. However, I strongly believe that the government should be banned in public places in Abu Dhabi because we need to have fresh air in these places.

Children like to watch TV

Many children like to watch TV too much and that is one of the main problems for all Families. This essay will discuss this major problem and try to suggest some solution for it.

There are several problems have contributed to the problem of watching TV. The major and important problem is the eye weakness. For example, when the children spend a lot of time in front the TV and they concentrate a lot they will get eye weakness. Another problem is they have some social problem. My cousin has this problem because he spends at least 5 to 6 hours a day in front of the TV and he does not attend any parties or visit our relatives. Another problem is they will gain weight. For instance, when you eat and watch you will not feel your stomach so you will eat a lot.

There are some problems but w have some solution. The first solution is to decrease the time of watching TV to one hour only another solution is you should organize the time and how to watch and what they watch. Also you have to put rules for watching TV like you can't switch on the TV when you are alone.

In conclusion, there are many problems and several solutions to prevent our children from this big problem. In my opinion you should switch off every thing like computers and TVs when it is 9 pm.

Teen accident in UAE

One of the biggest problems facing the UAE is the number of accident. Many people believe that the men whom under 25 years old is the main cause of accident. This essay will examine the problem of increasing the number of accidents and suggest some ways of solving the problem.

The biggest and major problem is high speed driving. For example if move on 200 km/h you have big chance to make an accident and you may hurt. Another problem is careless driving. The guy who careless in driving he is too dangerous because he will make a mistake sometimes kill innocent people. Another problem is bad condition of tires. For instance if the tires are old and not usable it will produce a disaster on the road. Another huge problem is driving while drunk because it absolutely makes an accident. Also the rules are a big problem. In the UAE there is no restrict rules for example, the regular maintenance a few people do it. Furthermore almost all teenage do races with their friends and that mean skip the traffic rules. Another problem is driving while you was tiredness because of you may fall on sleep and make an accident. Finally, the money is another problem. For Example, if you have a lot of money you can buy sport car with high speed and that is very dangerous.

There are several things we can do to solve the problem of teen accident. One solution is increasing the cost of fine. When the cost of fine is expensive no body will try to breach the rules of traffic. Another solution is educating people more about driving rules. Also the government should teach in school how it is important to respect the rule. Finally, the government should put more radar on the streets to force the people to decrease the crazy speed.

In conclusion the accident is a problem we can solve it if we can control and change the teen mind about the races and high speed. In my opinion we should educate the people about the dangerous of the problem that I mentioned above.

Overpopulation essay

Population is an important topic and I chose it because the people worry about it. However, the population on the earth has hit 6.5 billion. Some people are very worried about the ability of the world to sustain these huge numbers. This essay will examine the problem of overpopulation and suggest some ways of solving the problem.

The biggest and major problem is rapid increase in the number of people. If the world population continued to grow at the current rate, the earth would not be able to sustain its population and the number of people will decrease. Another problem is shortage of resources. For instance, when the numbers of people increase absolutely the resource will exhaust like water and crops. Another problem is standard of living. The main problem in the world is high cost of living and if you don’t have money you can't live in this world. For example, in the poor countries a lot of people are die because of they didn’t have the fundamental sources such as water, food and health care.

There are several things we can do to solve the problem of overpopulation. One solution is increasing people's knowledge. All societies should know that low population are currently enjoying the greatest advanced and rises in living standards such as the health, food and education. Another solution is number of birth. When we have control at number of birth we can sure that overpopulation problem will be limited and we can solve it.

In conclusion the overpopulation is huge problem and we have to worry about this rapid increase in it. In my opinion population growth will decrease if we follow these solutions. The population growth is a huge problem and I hope we can solve it.

Global Warming

One of the biggest problems facing the world is global warming. This essay will examine the problems and solutions of the global warming.

The biggest and major problem is the increase the sea level. For example, there are some countries and islands near to the sea level and they was low than other land. If the sea level increases they may disappear by flooding water. Another problem is increasing the temperature. When the weather become very hot a lot of thing does not work properly. For instance, no plants will grow and the ice will melt to water. Also it causes some natural disasters. For example, the global warming may cause the hurricanes and storms and all that will effects the world.

There are some problem but, we have several solutions. First, all government should make laws against the carbon dioxide (CO2) because of it is the main problem. Another solution is to find an alternative source of power like winds and sun. Furthermore we can solve this threat by increasing people's knowledge. All governments should have strong laws for any one who does something increase the biggest threat.

In conclusion the global warming is huge problem but maybe we have a last chance to prevent our self from this huge disaster. In my opinion every one can help his government by stopping any bad habits.

Rapid development

The UAE is one of the most highly developed countries in the world. Abu Dhabi city has a rapid development and that may cause some effect. This essay will examine the causes of rapid development in Abu Dhabi and look at some of the effects.

There are several causes for Abu Dhabi's rapid development. One of the main causes of rapid development is oil wealth and what it has brought. Because of Abu Dhabi wealth by the oil, the city infrastructure has developed. For instance, they can build the roads, park, and public transport. Another contributing factor is vision of the people and leader. The reason is there are a lot of educated people help to develop the city and we have a wise leader.

Rapid developments have some positive consequences for Abu Dhabi. The biggest effect is on the environment. For example, the government has built the hospitals and roads and they replaced the sands to a green city. Also they are interested in the agriculture. Another adverse effect is on the people. For instance, in Abu Dhabi they have increase the health care class by increase number of hospitals and the type of medicine. Furthermore the housing and education has increase too.

Rapid developments have some positive consequences but there are many negative outcomes. The major effect is on the environment. When the city has rapid development there are a lot of vehicles and factories and all pollute the air. Another adverse effect is the people. The foreigners vs. tradition and that cause our traditions to the lost.

Overall, Abu Dhabi is rapid development is caused by the oil and wise leaders. However, we can gain from the positive effect and I hope to solve the negative effect.

How to buy conflict-free diamond

Diamonds are most expensive stones in the world. Every one like to have diamonds but, have you think how to buy conflict-free diamonds. In this essay I will describe the steps to make sure that the diamonds are conflict-free.

There are some difference ways to have a guarantee about your diamonds. First, you have to ask your jeweler about diamonds and where it comes from. Second, if you have any doubts you should ask for a guarantee from your diamond suppliers stating that your diamonds are conflict-free. Third If I were I would ask for a copy of the company policy but if he refuses I am going to another jeweler shop. Fourth, if I know the jeweler I will ask him if the diamonds are smuggled. In addition I will not buy the conflict diamonds because I want to decrease those civil wars.

As you can see it easy to buy conflict free diamonds if follow this steps I mentioned above.

The World Diamond Trade

First of all what is the diamonds. The diamonds is very valuable stones made of carbon. It needs two conditions to transfer from carbon to diamond. One is an extreme pressure and the other is the high temperature. Most of the world diamonds are producing in Africa. There were a lot of mining companies in the world the biggest one is "De Beers Consolidated mines Ltd". This company does most of work in South Africa because the diamond is available in this place. In addition to this the company controls about two thirds of the world's rough diamonds.

However, 90 percent of the world rough diamonds are cut and polished in India. The reason of this high percent is the low price. It cost 40 cent for each gem and I think that is not fair. Furthermore, Dubai now is the diamonds hub and the reason is special deal that provides 50 years with zero tax. In the last the wealthy and stars like to buy the diamonds because they can pay for the expansive price.

As you can see it is amazing topic and I hope you are find something interesting in it.

POPULATION GROWTH

INTRODUCTION

Population is an important topic and I chose it because the people worry about it. In the past the number of people was small except in some places such as big cities. After that the population was continually increasing. In 1650 there was only 500 million on the world wide and this grew to 1 billion in 1840. Nowadays, however, the population on the earth has hit 6.5 billion. Some people are very worried about the ability of the world to sustain these huge numbers. Others are more optimistic and believe that humans will soon find ways to deal with this increase. This essay will talk about the problems of population increase and the ways to deal with it.

HISTORY OF POPULATION GROWTH

The population of country is the number of people living in a country. In 1840 there was only one billion on the earth. The population on the earth has now almost hit 6.5 billion. ("People's Daily Online"). In the past number of people was increasing and decreasing in different period because there were wars and epidemics. In 2025 the world population will rise to eight billion and it will be 9.3 billion in 2050. ("People's Daily Online ")

DEFINITION OF OVERPOPULATION

Overpopulation is Excessive population of an area to the point of overcrowding, depletion of natural resources, or environmental deterioration and when the density increase in random way. The quality of life drop and the population collapsed. ("Wikipedia"). Bangladesh has overpopulation because the high number of people and a few sources. In addition 1 million are added every year. (Lutton). Saudi Arabia is representing more than twice the combined population of the other Gulf countries. (Husain). In addition we have the population density. For example, the tiny country of Monaco has the world's highest population density. With an area of 1.2 of a square KM and a total population of 32,000, Monaco has a density of almost 27000 people per square KM. (Rosenberg). So this is too high number.

THE PROBLEM OF POPULATION INCREASES

There are a number of major problems For example, if the world population continued to grow at the current rate, the earth would not be able to sustain its population and the number of people will decrease. ("People's Daily Online"). In addition to this the population in the past wasn't a problem but now when it is growing rapidly it makes huge problem. Another problem is shortage of resources. Over 1.1 billion have no safe drinking water and 2.6 billion people have lack basic health care. On the other hand the reason for rapid growth of population is health care. Nowadays the health care has improved and scientists have found medicine for a lot of diseases. In the last 60 years population growth is putting a lot of pressure on health care systems in countries such as Namibia ("Population Growth").

Another thing is standard of living. For instance, if you have money you will not care about your children's future because you will have guarantee about their life. (Husain). A lot of African countries will lose their adult population to AIDS through the next 10 years. These huge growths of population make several problems. In India millions of adults are HIV positive, more than the other nation.

There is not enough land for farming cropland per person is shrinking. ("Our Demographically Divided World").Gulf countries will need five million new housing units in the next 10 years because they have a big increase in population. (Husain).

On the other hand there are some positive effects. First, the rapid population growth stimulates economic and technological developments. (Lutton). In addition to this the low population growth does not appear to have harmed productivity like UAE. Besides the low population such as in Australia are currently enjoying the greatest advanced and rises in living standards such as the health and education. Furthermore Africa can feed twice the world population. (Lutton).

UAE POPULATION

There is a huge difference between the populations in 1995-2005 in UAE. In 1995 it was 2,411,041 but in 2005 it was 4,104,695 and that is an increase of 74.8%. The national males are 50.7% and the national females account for 49.3% so that is almost same. ("UAE population"). In addition to this the illiteracy of the UAE is 9% for both nationals and non-nationals. Males make up 67.6% of the UAE population. On the other hand the females are 32.4% of the population. ("UAE population"). Dubai is already under pressure to meet a shortfall in housing that is pushing property rents higher. The Gulf countries companies have cash and expertise to make varied projects like emerging regional markets and International Finance Corporation like Dubai Financial Market and Abu Dhabi Securities Market. (Husain). The UAE until now is not overpopulated but, if the population growth is continue in the same ratio it could become a big problem.

SOLUTION

As you can see there are several problem but we have some solution. First, increase the standard of life. For example, if you have to pay for every thing such as education, health and another things maybe you will spend a lot of money. Besides this the people automatically decrease the number of children in the coming few year. ("Population Growth"). Countries with low populations are currently enjoying the greatest advanced and rises in living standards. (Lutton). The low population growth does not appear to have harmed productivity. Furthermore, we have to do birth control. In these ways we can control the increase of population. Finally the world agricultural resources can feed 40 billion people.

CONCLUSION

As we know population is an important topic and we have to worry about this rapid increase in it. In my opinion, people should not have more than two children. I believe that population growth will decrease if we follow these suggestion. The population growth is a huge problem and I hope we can solve it.
